CAT Operations Course
Participants will receive advanced training in customer communications, production rate management, crew supervision, and complex project management. Instruction includes labor production rate calculations for sizing production crews, critical path management, work plan creation and control, project safety, customer and third-party communications, project documentation and invoicing—ensuring attendees understand how to manage both the technical and administrative sides of large-loss operations. Specialized instruction in equipment sizing, setup, and drying science strengthens technical decision-making while reinforcing defensible, results-driven restoration practices.
Everything from estimating to Invoicing - management of residential, commercial, and large loss projects of all sizes. Learn how doing the hard stuff first can pay off at the end of the project and get paid.
The course culminates in a live, hands-on case study competition featuring a resort fire-and-water-damage scenario, where attendees will work through real-world project conditions and compete to win the case study challenge and take home the ASTRO award for "Best in Class". Each participant will also receive the CAT Operations Manual as a bonus course resource, providing a structured field guide they can take back to their operations.
Instruction is led by industry experts, including Thomas McGuire, Founder of Large Loss Mastery and Creator of THE EDGE estimating system and software, and TJ Wiberley, CEO of Patriot Restoration, specializing in residential and small commercial projects, as well as specialists in equipment sizing, electrical safety, and power distribution, and includes software support through T&M Plus.
